Installation Guide – Rear Emblem – Seat CUPRA Ateca (Black Carbon LIMITED)
Tools & Materials Needed
Microfiber cloth
Isopropyl alcohol or adhesive cleaner
Plastic removal tool or dental floss
Heat gun / hairdryer (optional, helps soften old adhesive)
Masking tape
Rubbing alcohol / surface prep wipe
Prepare the Surface
-
Clean the trunk lid surface thoroughly (remove any dirt, wax or grease).
-
Ensure the surface is dry and free from contaminants before applying the emblem.
This ensures the new emblem will bond strongly once installed.
Remove Old Emblem (If Applicable)
If your vehicle already has a rear emblem installed:
-
Warm up the emblem area gently with a heat gun or hairdryer — this softens the original adhesive.
-
Slide dental floss or a thin plastic line behind the emblem and work it back and forth (like sawing motion).
-
Slowly pop the badge off without bending the trunk lid.
Work evenly across the emblem — taking your time prevents paint damage.
Clean Old Adhesive Residue
-
After removing the old emblem, clean off all leftover adhesive using an adhesive remover or isopropyl alcohol.
-
Make sure the surface is perfectly clean and dry.
Prepare the New Emblem
-
Before removing the protective backing, test-fit the Black Carbon LIMITED emblem on the trunk to verify correct positioning.
-
Use masking tape guides to mark the exact placement.
-
Once satisfied, peel back a portion of the adhesive backing.
Install the New Emblem
-
Align the emblem carefully using your tape guides.
-
Press it firmly onto the surface — start from the center and work outward to avoid air pockets.
-
Apply even pressure for about 30–60 seconds to ensure full contact.
The emblem uses pre-applied automotive grade adhesive on the back — no drilling or extra glue needed.

Typical Time Needed
Around 10–20 minutes for removal + installation if no heavy adhesive residue.
(Plan extra time if the old emblem is stubborn.)
